Could someone PLEASE explain to me what Sofia Vergara was wearing last night at the SAG Awards red carpet last night? The Modern Family actress, who made her first appearance with fiancé Joe Manganiello since their engagement, didn't just show off her enormous rock but was sporting a red Donna Karan Atelier gown that made absolutely no sense to me. I hate to admit it, but that dress really wasn't all that great!

I was a little disappointed no one from Modern Family won anything and just as disappointed in Sofia's red gown. In fact, I still can't believe this was a Donna Karan Atelier dress. This thing was all over the place. It featured a one-shoulder design but looked like it was meant to be strapless. The criss-cross sheer detailing around the bodice was just weird and what was up with all the draping?
It was nice to see her switch things up for a change. Sofia almost always rocks mermaid-style dresses on the red carpet. But was this red number really any different from what she usually opts for? Listen, I get that the girl has a bombshell body, but the hip-hugging dresses are getting real old. I would love to see her in something elegant like that pretty pink off-the-shoulder Balenciaga dress Felicity Jones wore. That would have been nice to see.
What is up with us Latina and always wearing hip-hugging numbers? Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing bad about showing off your fabulous shape, but it's okay to go for something that doesn't show off the big booty from time to time. Not to mention, A-line style look pretty good on an hourglass or pear-shape. It shows off our teeny tiny waists. But my guess is we won't be seeing Sofia in anything like that anytime soon. How much you wanna bet her wedding gown is going to be a mermaid style?
