I love having a honey toned complexion, but I'm not going to lie, it definitely comes with its own set of problems. Like most Latinas with olive skin or darker, I struggle with uneven skin tone. Certain parts of my face appear slightly lighter or darker than others and I get pesky manchas too, usually after a bad breakout. Trust me–it's not cute! Funny thing is, most people I meet find my skin flawless and radiant. I get compliments all the time (especially from my gringa friends). Well, that's what working in the beauty industry for years will do to you. I might struggle with dark spots and hyperpigmentation but I have enough tricks, tips (and product recommendations) up my sleeve to know how to brighten up my complexion ASAP!

There's no better time than fall and winter to treat an uneven skin tone. Most of our dark spots and hyperpigmentation comes from all that sun exposure we get over the summer. I rounded up some of the best new products out there that can help brighten that beautiful face of yours and rid you of manchas and discoloration. Check them out and make sure to stock up!
Estée Lauder: Everyone is raving about the new Estée Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum ($92). Unlike other formulas I've tried, this one uses special technology that allows it to act in rhythm with your skin's "nighttime pigmentation response." How awesome is that? Expect a glowy, much more even complexion in less than two weeks.
L'Oréal Paris: I'm a big fan of facial oils. They don't just deeply hydrate but they also help even out a dry, dull complexion. Try L'Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil Treatment ($25). All you need are four to five drops of this non-greasy oil to get your glow on.
Erno Laszlo: The Erno Laszlo Luminous Intensive Cream ($125) might seem pricey but it's well worth the investment. This rich daily cream works not only to diminish the appearance of dark spots and manchas, but it also prevents future discoloration, leaving skin looking brighter than ever. I can't get enough of it!
June Jacobs: Don't worry about the June Jacobs Intensive Age Defying Peel Pads ($75) irritating your already sensitive skin. This stuff is made with gentle ingredients like white, red and green tea extracts combined with goji berry, pomegranate and grape seed, that nourishes and soothes skin while helping to promote cell turnover. Say bye bye manchas!
Bliss: I've only been using Bliss Multi-'face'-eted All-In-One Anti Aging Clay Mask ($50) for about a month now and I'm already seeing a drastic difference. My skin looks healthy, bright, even and younger than ever!
