Wedding dresses are a big deal and can be all kinds of expensive. Never in my wildest DIY imagination would I think that someone could make a wedding dress from scratch for under $30 and have it come out looking like one of the most beautiful and elegant wedding dresses I have ever seen in my life. What?! How is that even possible?
Well Reddit user Alkikat has mad crocheting skills and she decided to put those skills to use over a five month period during her bus commute to and from work. If you are not blown away by the dress she made, well, I just don't know what it will take to impress you.

So here you see a picture of most of the dress on a form and the lovely crocheter herself during one of her commutes. Impressive as the dress is on the form, it's much more stunning when you see it on the actual bride.
Look at it! It fits her like a dream, the green sash looks fantastic and, I repeat, she made the whole thing including the lining for under $30! Not only that, it's machine washable! She wrote, "The dress is also machine washable (I've washed it several times), doesn't wrinkle or need any special care, and I plan on wearing it again with linings of different colors and with the train bustled up in different ways."
If I made that dress, I would wear it every chance I got and make sure I was buried in it too. Ugh! I could slap myself for not paying more attention and being enthusiastic when my abuela tried to teach me to crochet.
Here's a clever little stop motion video she made of the whole dress creation:
