Jessica Alba is hands down one of my favorite celebs when it comes to style inspiration. The girl can dress–and I know I don't have to remind you how her hair and makeup is always on point. Speaking of hair, have you noticed how nicely her color gradually fades from top to bottom? That's because she ditched the obvious ombré for sombré, a much softer and more subtle ombré. This is the next big thing, chica–trust me!

It seems as if everyone has been switching their ombré hair for a more grown out or, I'd like to say, grown-up look. What's the difference? Well for starters, ombré includes a drastic color pairing. Remember those deep, black roots with blonde ends? But the new sombré trend is a softer version of ombré. Your base color subtly transitions into lighter shades in a way that almost looks natural. Look how well Jessica's caramel-colored ends highlight her face.
Call me crazy, but I was never a big fan of ombré. The drastic difference in color might have worked on a night out with the girls, but it never seemed work-appropriate to me, at least not for corporate environments anyway. Sombré, on the other hand, looks as natural as sun-kissed hair in the summertime. You know how some people's ends get lighter when constantly exposed to sunlight? It's that sort of thing! It's also a lot easier to maintain as well. Want slightly lighter and brighter ends? Check out a few of these celebs with sombré hair for inspiration!

Lily Aldrige

The Victoria's Secret model was one of the first celebs to sport the new sombré trend and I have to admit, that touch of honey definitely flatters her face. It's a much more grown up take on what she had before!
Jessica Biel

I'm obsessed with Jessica's soft two-toned hair. Doesn't this make you want to book a hair appointment like right now?
Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney Kardashian's sombré is so subtle you could hardly tell she's sporting two different shades. Now that's she's pregnant, the last thing she has to worry about is touching up her roots.
Mila Kunis

Mila's natural sombré is super natural-looking. The minimal highlights flatters her face without taking over.
Selena Gomez

I am obsessed with Selena's take on this trend. It's just such a great look for brunette hair.
Camila Alves

It took a while for Camila Alves to finally ditch her ombré but she's working those sombré strands!
Gisele Bundchen

Who says you can't do sombré on blonde hair? Look how freaking gorgeous Gisele's strands look!
