There's a BIG difference between a beautiful summer glow and super shiny face. I have combination skin, which means during the colder months I struggle with dryness and in the summertime I have to keep tissues within arm's reach to wipe off my greasy T-zone. Luckily, I've mastered how to keep oil in check!

In order to save face, I make a few tweeks to my summer skincare regimen. Don't worry, it's not too many changes, just enough to help me maintain a shine-free face all day, everyday. Here are six ways I keep my skin free of shine all summer long!

Cleanse

Oil and sweat that sits on your face for too long can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. So to keep my skin clean and clear, I make sure to cleanse twice daily using a gentle cleanser that won't strip or dry my skin. I'm currently obsessed with Clarisonic Deep Pore Daily Cleanser ($27).
Exfoliate

If you struggle with oily skin, I recommend you exfoliate at least twice a week. Try Neutrogena Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Daily Scrub ($8). It goes deep into your pores to clear out oil and controls shine.
Switch to a lighter moisturizer

There's no reason to use a heavy face cream during the summer. Switch to a lighter moisturizer that contains sunscreen. I love Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 ($15).
Switch your foundation formula

Lay off on the liquid foundation and try a tinted moisturizer like Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream ($10). I also love CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Fresh Complexion Foundation ($7)–it's lightweight, oil-free and provides awesome coverage!
Use a primer

Layer an oil-free primer underneath your foundation. It keeps oil at bay and helps your makeup last longer. Try Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-Hr Perfecting Primer ($30).
Use blotting papers

During the summer I always carry a pack of blotting papers in my purse for whenever ever I need to freshen up. Try Boscia Green Teas Blotting Linens ($10).
