If you have very long hair, you probably have the same problems I do. It falls out in clumps, you spend about 20 minutes a day untangling it, you have battered ends and none of that matters because you love it.
The reality is that long hair looks beautiful and lets you try a thousand hairstyles that look amazing, but maintenance is among the most difficult things to accomplish.

If what you want is to have a bright long moisturized and nourished hair it is not impossible. Check out some tricks that have worked to keep my long strands healthy and shiny:
Prevent dryness: With the change of season it is possible that your scalp and the ends of your hair dry out. The summer sun is the main culprit of leaving it in this deplorable condition. Buy organic coconut oil and apply it from the scalp to the ends for two hours, one or two days a week.
Battered ends: Having long hair will always lead to some split ends. Try trimming it a half to one inch every month to make it look healthy and apply masks that have natural oil, such as avocado and coconut oil mask, or avocado with a little almond oil. Let it act on your ends for 30 minutes and rinse with warm water.
Stop using chemicals: You probably love using every cream, spray or beauty products you find to keep your very long hair under control. That mistreats it a lot. Aim for one month of detox from chemicals and do not put any kind of products on your long tresses. Your hair is full of living cells that die every time you pour chemicals on them.
Wash it two times a week: I know, it sounds like a nightmare, especially if you exercise. You will survive and the change is going to be noticeable in 2 weeks. This will prevent it from falling out and will keep the shampoo (which also has a lot of chemicals) from weakening the roots.
Sleep with a braid: Don't sleep with your long hair loose. That can cause it to be damaged, get pulled and fall out while you sleep. Sleep with a loose braid so you keep it under control and prevent tangles.
