6 DIY Ways to have a perfect at-home spa experience

Who doesn't like to indulge at a luxurious spa? Problem is most of us don't have the time or the budget for these fancy spancy treatments. Trust me, if I could afford to dedicate a least one day a month to relaxing facials and body massages I totally would! But since I can't, I like recreating that same ambiance in my own apartment by DIYing it. It saves you money and time and allows you to customize your experience–my favorite part!

There's no reason why you need to spend a fortune on pricey treatments just to look beautiful when you can whip up your own remedies right at home. So if you love facials and spa pedicures as much as I do, relax, throw a robe on and get ready to experience you very own in-house spa treatment with a few of these easy DIY tricks!

Get super soft skin: I'm all about exfoliating, especially during the summertime. It keeps my skin smooth and soft for days. Try creating your very own body scrub by mixing brown sugar, olive oil and grapeseed and using a loofah or washing cloth to spread the mixture over your body from head to toe. Your skin will feel SO soft!

Take a warm bath: Want to unwind? Try adding sea salt, a few rose petals and 5-6 drops of lavender oil to your filled tub. Not only is this incredibly relaxing and therapeutic, but the sea salt helps bring down any inflammation or tension you might have in your body. Talk about indulgence!

Do a face mask: Make your face glow by whipping up your own face masks using plain Greek yogurt and honey. Spread it all over your face then apply a cucumber to each closed eyelid. Now sit back and relax for 15 minutes. After rinsing it off with warm water you'll notice a radiant complexion and more relaxed you.

Make a hand scrub: It's so important to me to keep my hands super soft and smooth all year long. I love nourishing them with an easy DIY hand scrub made with 1/2 cup of brown sugar, one tablespoon of coconut oil and one tablespoon of honey. I mix all the ingredients together and massage it on my hands for a few minutes before wrapping them in saran wrap (or plastic baggies). I leave them on for 10-minutes before washing the scrub off.

Hydrate hair: For an all-natural deep conditioning treatment, take one full avocado and mash it using a fork, then add a tablespoon  of coconut oil and a tablespoon of honey. Apply it all over your hair from roots to end and leave on for 30 minutes before rinsing out.

Do a foot soak: I love wearing flat sandals during the summertime, but they do a number on my heels, leaving them cracked and dry. To keep them soft, I like to do an at-home foot soak using sea salt, tea tree oil, peppermint oil and fresh mint leaves. I fill a tub or bucket with warm water, sea salt and then add only a few drops of the essential oils along with the mint leaves. I let my feet soak in there for 10-15 and they come out feeling soft and refreshed, not to mention smelling great afterwards!
