Curly Qs: The 6 best travel products for curls

I love myself a good vacation or getaway. Who doesn't? This year I'm hitting up the Bahamas with my fiancé and I'm thrilled. But I have to admit there is one itty bitty problem: I have a really hard time traveling light and it's not just my clothes and shoes that take up all my luggage space (I like packing two outfits per day), it's all my hair products! Curly hair is pretty unpredictable which is why I refuse to use any of the mini hair products available at the travel section at my local pharmacy. I need stuff that's going to keep these curls in check!

Stressed out about your hair? Don't be! Nowadays most of the curly hair brands we all love come with their own travel-size options. How awesome is that? So don't let humidity, frizz and bad hair days get in the way of your vacation fun. Here are six travel-sized curly hair products we should all be carrying this summer!

Fight frizz

Beat the frizz with Ouidad Ultimate Frizz-Fighting Trio ($22). It keeps curls soft, smooth and full of shine. You can even use these if you plan on styling your hair straight because it keeps it protected from heat-damage.

Transition gracefully

If you're in the middle of transitioning your curls from a chemical straightener (like the Brazilian Keratin) or heat damage, make sure to pack Carol's Daughter Transitioning 1-2-3 ($40) in your carry-on. This travel-sized kit is a godsend! It does it all from removing product build-up, keeps your scalp healthy, stops thinning, prevents breakage and deeply soften curls.

Nourish your strands

Nothing nourishes curls quite like beneficial oils which is why I'll be traveling with Josie Maran's Moroccan Miracle Hair Duo with Argan Oil ($16) this summer. The mini duo set includes an argan oil hair serum along with an argan hot oil self-heating hair treatment that deeply hydrates dry curls, boosts shine and strengthens. Doesn't that sound awesome?

Get beach waves

Have wavy hair? Try Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray ($15). This saltwater based product adds volume and texture while also keeping strands moisturized.

Have healthy hair

I don't travel anywhere without the DevaCurl Trial + travel Kit ($30). It has everything you need to keep curls healthy throughout your entire vacay. A sulfate-free, no-lather cleanser, a hydrating conditioner, a light defining gel and a styling spray to keep your look in place. What more could you want?

Bring your own stuff

If your favorite curly line doesn't come in travel-size, get yourself a pack of empties like  Aveda's Fill-ables ($18). It comes complete with four small bottles where you can store your shampoo, conditioner, curl cream or leave-in along with a reusable toiletry bag to throw your bobby pins and other hair accessories.
