Cleanse!
Summer is full of late nights out, but don't let them stop you from washing your face every night before bed. It's an important extra step not only because it removes damaging dirt that can clog your pores and cause you to break out, but also because it'll make make your night cream work harder as lotions and anti-aging treatments penetrate deeper on clean skin.
Moisturize
After washing your face, put on your favorite overnight moisturizer and let it work its magic as you sleep. Ladies with especially dry skin might also want to invest in a humidifier, which keeps the air from being too dry and hot and in turn, helps plump your skin and keep it hydrated.
Readjust your sleep position
Lying on your stomach or on the same side every night can etch permanent sleep lines into your skin and cause wrinkles. Try to train yourself to lay on your back. If you can't get comfortable that way, at least try switching your cotton pillowcases out for silk ones. It'll help prevent any unwanted lines!
Stack your pillows
In addition to applying your preferred overnight eye cream, try stacking a few pillows beneath your head to avoid puffiness in the skin under your eyes.. It keeps fluids from accumilating in your face and around your eyes and keeps the puffiness to a minimum.
Heal dry feet and hands
To soften any dry or cracked skin on your feet, apply Vaseline or a rich coco butter lotion to the soles of your feet and put on socks before you sleep. The socks help bind the moisture to your feet and make your skin softer. If your hands are also dry, apply a rich moisturizer there too and then wear cotton gloves to bed. It may feel weird, but it can make a huge difference!
