4 Ways to treat thigh chafing that actually work

Summertime is almost here and there are just a few things I'm already dreading about it. Frizzy hair and inner thigh chafing among the two scariest things. In fact, it was just the other day I found myself walking down the street with my legs wide apart like I had just pooped in my pants or something. It was crazy hot out and I had a short A-line dress on that forced my thick, sweaty thighs to rub together. Not only was it uncomfortable, it was painful and obviously embarrassing too!

If you're a woman whose thighs touch, you've most likely dealt with inner-thigh chafing at some point in time. I've learned that chafing doesn't discriminate when it comes to size. I've been pretty slim most of my life and it hasn't excluded me from the pain and embarrassment that comes along with it. And when I say pain, I mean the pain that comes after all that rubbing and friction is terrible. I've had burning rashes from weeks of chafing and trust me it takes a while to go away.

Well guess what, I REFUSE to let chafing (a.k.a chub rub) get in the way of my summer fun. So I've come up with a few solutions to prevent it from happening in the first place. Here are four ways to prevent inner-thigh chafing from happening in the first place!

Baby powder: Listen, it might sound messy but applying a small amount of baby powder in between your thighs makes such a difference it's almost hard to believe. It instantly absorbs sweat and moisture and keeps my thighs nice and dry for hours. I like to use Johnson's Baby Powder with Soothing Aloe & Vitamin E ($4). It seems to get the job done, but some women swear by Lush Silky Underwear Dusting Powder ($8). It sounds worth a shot.

Body Glide: Ever heard of Body Glide Skin Balm ($6)? It's the official anti-chafing product and I kid you not, it works. It was originally created to help marathon runners from getting blisters, but now it's available for anyone who doesn't have thigh gap.

Get shorts: My number one-trick for avoiding painful thigh chafing during the summer, is slipping on some biker shorts underneath my dresses and skirts. It basically prevents your thighs from rubbing against each other and trust me, it works wonders!

Use aloe vera: A few friends of mine recommend using a cooling gel to provide relief from chafing, but I've found aloe vera to work a lot better. And if you already have the burning from chub rub it helps it heal quick.
