I've always obsessed over having a glowy face just like J.Lo's, especially during the summertime. So I had a chat with celebrity makeup artist Jackie Gomez from Top 5 Management, who has worked on gorgeous celebs like Beyonce, Zoe Saldana and La La Anthony. She gave me some awesome tips on how to achieve that J.Lo glow all summer long! Check them out!

Switch your foundation

The first step to a J.Lo glow is in the foundation. "For summertime a tinted moisturizer would be the ideal, but BB Balms and CC Creams do a much better job at providing coverage," says Jackie who loves Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream ($6). It does it all, from providing moisture, evening your skin tone, to brightening your complexion and even hiding pesky manchas. But if your skin tends to be on the oiler side, Jackie suggests using a mineral powder that's going to help absorb oil and leave skin with a nice, flawless finish. Check out BareMinerals Matte Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 ($27). It comes in a ton of shades too!

Use the right tools

To achieve that dewy makeup look, Jackie likes to use the Beauty Blender ($20). She soaks it in water, squeezes it all out, then uses it to apply BB cream. "It helps the BB cream, giving you a more uniformed and airbrush look," she says.

Get your bronze on

"Since it's summertime and we don't want to put too much makeup on, I recommend a waterproof bronzer because it's going to last longer," Jackie says. She recommends Cargo Water Resistant Bronzer ($29) in the medium shade for Latinas with olive or tan complexions. Trust me, this thing stays put!

Line your eyes

I try to avoid eyeliners during the summertime because they tend to smudge and run down my face, but Jackie says you don't have to. "Just look for liners that are water-resistant," she says. She loves the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($19). For a J.Lo-inspired glow, Jackie suggests combining two eye liner colors. "Do a gold liner right on your waterline, right near the lash line. Then on the bottom do a copper color," she says. "I work with Beyonce a lot and when I do her makeup on tour this is the look I love to do on her."

Do natural-looking lips

Try opting for a nude lip. "Always go with a base that's more of a pink tone, because when you chose a pink or rose nude shade, it's always going to compliment your skin (especially for us Latinas)," Jackie says. She loves Motives Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Rosewood ($18). "It really gives you that J.Lo look because it's not too pink and it doesn't make you look like you don't have anything on. And it helps enhance your bronze look."

Use a powder blush

Can you use a powder blush during summer? "Once you have some sort of water-resistant formula on your skin, I can guarantee you can layer and it will hold," Jackie says in regards to choosing powered blushes versus cream blushes. She suggests NARS Orgasm Blush ($30) for Latinas with medium or dark skin tones. "Add blush to the apples of your cheeks using a blush brush, applying it in a circular motion," she says.

Avoid a melt-down

To avoid your makeup from sweating or melting off, Jackie recommends prepping your skin with a primer, like MAC Prep & Prime Skin ($30). She uses it on Beyonce when she's on tour. "It helps balance your skin and pushes out the sweat," she says.
