6 Celeb-inspired hairstyles perfect for humid days

I never have a clue what to do with my hair on rainy or humid days. It's the most frustrating thing ever. If I wear it straight it proofs and frizzes (so pointless!), but even my natural curls can't seem to cooperate with the rain. So many times what I wind up doing is just pulling my hair up into a messy bun. And when I say messy, I mean I look like I just stepped out of bed. Ugh! Is it even possible to look cute when it's yucky and humid out?

It's possible, you just have to look for a style that's able to hold up rain and humidity, like a fish tail braid for instance. So I looked to a few of my favorite Latina celebs for inspiration. Here are a few of my favorite celebrity water-proof hairstyles that will keep you looking stylish even when the humidity reaches record highs!

I love the way braided crowns look on chicas with long hair. This style is perfect for fighting frizz because it keeps your strands tucked away neatly. It's also super cute!

Top knot

You can never really go wrong with a high bun. But unlike a casual messy bun, the top knot has to be neat and precise. I like pulling my hair up into a high ponytail and then wrapping the pony around the base and pinning down the ends with bobby pins. Use a small teaser brush with nylon bristles and a dab of hair oil (or serum) to help tame flyaways and baby hairs.

The slicked back bun is pretty easy to do. All you need is a hair serum or ultra-light styling gel. Brush wet hair back and apply a little bit of products to the crown before pull into a low bun. It's sleek, sophisticated and has no way of frizzing up on you.

Turban

There's nothing worse than frizzy or flat roots, especially on a humid or rainy day. Hide them with an ultra-chic turban. You'll be covering up a bad hair day while making a serious fashion statement.

Ponytail

A high ponytail is incredibly easy to do. I'd tease the front a little and lift the roots with a the end of a rattail comb to give it more shape and volume.

If your hair is long enough, try a side fishtail braid. It's actually a lot easier than it looks!
