The 11 best beauty apps ever

These days, it seems everyone is trying to go as natural and chemical-free as possible, including in beauty products. But as many women know all too well, it's hard to find the truly clean products out from the others when you're standing in the middle of a very long makeup aisle at the pharmacy or your local beauty store. Thankfully, a new app could now make your search a whole lot easier.

Called Think Dirty, the app basically makes clean beauty shopping a breeze by rating thousands of popular North American and European products on a scale from one (being the cleanest, most chemical-free) to 10 (being the "dirtiest"). Sounds pretty great, right?!

The creator, Lily Tse of Toronto, says she was first inspired to start seeking more natural products by her mother, who is a breast cancer survivor. But it didn't take very long before she noticed that there was a serious lack of information when it came to cosmetics and beauty. Tse is hoping the app will help users make smarter choices about the products they buy, without having to look up or try to remember all the unhealthy ingredients they should avoid.

Personally, I love the idea of this app. Recently, I've been making a more of a conscious effort than ever before to try and stick to healthier beauty products. And while I had almost no problems identifying the "clean" body lotions, moisturizers, soaps, face washes, etc., I've been having way more trouble finding more natural makeup that looks and feels the way I want it to. That's where this app could be really useful.

Plus, anything that gives cosmetic companies a push towards using less harmful chemicals in their products is always good, right?

But this isn't the only awesome app for beauty lovers out there! Check out some other beauty apps you should try out, below:
