Are facial cleansing wipes really bad for your skin?

**I don't know about you, but I can't go a day without my facial cleansing wipes. It's the only thing that gets my makeup (especially waterproof mascara) off effectively and more importantly–quickly! Trust me when I say that I've tried practically every makeup remover out there.

So when I read a recent article claiming that facial wipes are basically the worst thing you can put on your face, I of course–panicked!

According to the Daily Mail (so take this with a grain of salt ladies!) using facial wipes can cause a number of skin issues from premature wrinkling, dryness, acne and even allergic reactions. NO way!

"Because the cleansing lotions can be quite mild, it may take a considerable amount of physical force to get stubborn make-up off, thus risking harming the delicate eye area," cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Sam Bunting said. Bunting might have a point, but I completely disagree with this whole theory that using facial wipes ruin your skin. First of all, I think we all know that using cleansing wipes in place of actually washing your face (with a good cleanser and water) all the time is a big NO-NO! They are great in a pinch, but this is not an every day thing.

In the end, using a cleansing wipe late at night when you're too tired to head to the bathroom sink, is obviously better than not washing your face at all. I'm sorry, but I think any attempt to remove dirt and makeup from your face before hitting the sack is better than nothing.

Second of all, the doctor definitely does not convince that facial wipes are any more irritating than regular cleansers. If you use a lot of force–regardless of if you're cleansing with wipes or with soap and water–you're going to pull and stretch your skin and that can easily lead to wrinkles. For the record, I've never had an allergic reaction to wipes or dryness or acne, but I have received those symptoms from regular cleansers (especially the fancy ones that contain fragrance). Sorry, but I'm gonna have to call BS on this Daily News "report".

Nothing and no one is going to stop me from using my facial wipes. In fact, I just remembered I need to buy a new pack tonight!
