I live for beauty trends but it's not always easy finding runway trends that work for us Latinas. Certain colors just don't complement our olive, tan, or dark complexions. But it looks like 2014 got it right. Most of the styles seem like they were made just for us, like bright orange lips for spring, cat-eyes, crown braids (for our textured tresses) and of course classic shine-free, red labios. Awesome, right?

Orange lipstick

Bright orange or coral lipstick brings out the warm understones in olive, tan, or dark complexions. Try a applying a shade like, Maybelline Color Sensations in Electric Orange ($6).
Green eyeshadow

Shimmery green shadow looks great against a smooth, neutral complexion. Go for an emerald green color like, CoverGirl Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Turqoise Glow ($3).
Crown braids

Crown braids make the perfect bad hair day fix. They look especially great on curly or wavy hair.
Classic cat-eyes

Take out those black liquid liners chicas, cause cat-eyes are are here to stay. A liner with a felt-tip like the, Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($20), makes for precise and easy application.
Shine-free red lips

To update this timeless trend, opt for matte lipstick like NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Vesuvio ($26).
Natural glow

For a natural-looking flow, apply a luminizing tinted moisturizer, like Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Illuminating ($43). Add a touch of cream blush to the apples of your cheeks. I love Revlon PhotoReady Blush Cream in ($14).
Wild waves

If you weren't blessed with natural curly or wavy hair, create perfect waves with a claspless rod, like Conair You Curl XL Wand Styler ($35).
