Keep your skin natural
First and foremost, you want to keep the rest of your face looking fresh–no matter your skin tone. Make sure to apply your eye makeup first. Then apply a tinted moisturizer to rest of your face. I like Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 ($43).
Don't over do it with the liner
Line your bottom lash line with a brown pencil liner, like Shiseido Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil ($20). I'd add single faux lashes instead of the strips, to prevent your eyes from looking too dramatic. Try Ardell DuraLash Flair Individual Lash Set ($3).
Do nude lips
Keep the focus on your eyes, by opting for a nude lipgloss, like L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lipgloss in Barely Nude ($10).
If you have light skin
A bluish green shadow looks best on fairer complexions. Try CoverGirl Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Turqoise Glow ($4).
If you have olive skin

If you have medium, tan, or caramel skin
