Get sleek, shiny hair overnight with these 5 miracle tips

I'll be the first to admit I baby my hair A LOT. But between all the heat-styling and cold weather winds, my strands are super prone to dryness and dullness during the wintertime. Even so, I still manage to get my hair looking sleek and shiny. And no it's not because of good genes, it's all thanks to my overnight shine-boosting hair strategy!

Some chicas can get away with just throwing in some conditioner in their hair every time they wash it, but that doesn't do it for my dry-prone, naturally curly locks. There's actually a few different things I do to get this hair looking super shiny and healthy. Just remember moisture is key to getting a glassy sheen overnight. Check it out!

Do a deep conditioning treatment: Nothing gets my hair boosting with shine more than an ultra-nourishing hair mask. Try Bigen Protect & Repair Deep Conditioner ($2). It helps repair dry, damaged, color-treated, and chemically processed hair. Healthy hair starts with hydration ladies!

Slather your hair in oil: Try coating your hair in coconut oil before you go to bed. Letting it "marinate" while you sleep leaves strands smooth, soft, and full of shine by morning. Make sure you shampoo at least twice the following day to remove all the oil.

Protect your blowout: This might sound crazy, but I find the way I wear my hair at night to make such a difference when it comes to shine. To preserve my sleek and shiny blowouts, I pull my hair into a loose, low ponytail at night using a thick scrunchie. You know, the old-school kind. This also prevents the ponytail from leaving any ugly creases or marks.

Use a satin pillow case: I've been told time and time again that cotton pillow cases with time can dry out your strands. Try switching to satin one instead. It makes all the difference!

Switch your shampoo: Shampoos containing sulfate tend to dry out hair since they remove your strand's natural oils. Try a cleansing conditioner, like L'Oréal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner ($7).
