When it comes to her hair, I don't think there's anything Rhianna wouldn't try. But even so, I was still sort of shocked to see this chica rocking a doobie wrap at the 2013 American Music Awards last night. YES a doobie! The girl really accepted her award for top R&B Female Artist with her strands wrapped in pins (fancy pearl ones of course). I'm not gonna lie, I've definitely left my house plenty of times with my hair in a doobie. What Latina hasn't? But this was beyond ridiculous!

Surprisingly enough, I actually liked the racy Jean Paul Gaultier couture outfit Rhianna wore last night. It consisted of a black sequined bustier top paired with a floor-sweeping sheer lace skirt that included faja-looking construction towards the top. This super sexy ensemble was certainly enough to make a grand appearance, but apparently that wasn't enough for RiRi. She had to top it off with an unexpected hairstyle–the doobie!
I can't really knock Rhianna for sporting a doobie out in public, but what was she thinking wearing it to an award show? Last I checked doobies were a maintenance style you only reserve for the ride home from the Dominican hair salon or for bed. In fact, I know plenty of Latinas who wrap their hair in bobby pins before they go to sleep so they can wake up with smooth, sleek strands. I also know plenty who aren't ashamed to walk to the corner bodega or even the laundry mat with their hair all wrapped up–myself included!
But rocking this like an actual hairstyle and to an award show is a big NO NO. You gotta give her props though for keeping that thing intact all night. Mine would have been messed up half way through the show!
