American Music Awards 2013: Get Zoe Saldana’s sleek blowout in 3 simple steps

When it comes to fashion, Zoe Saldana never EVER disappoints. The Dominican and Puerto Rican star looked effortlessly chic at the 2013 American Music Awards last night in a one shoulder gown from Roland Mouret that featured delicate lace inserts throughout and a scalloped neckline. But what I really loved was Zoe's super shiny strands. Seriously, what is this girl's secret to always sporting gleaming hair?

I don't think Zoe's ever had a bad hair day in her life. Every time I see her I get instant blowout envy. Check out how to get her sleek and shiny look at home with celebrity hairstylist Aviva Perea's easy-to-follow tips below!

Step 1: Aviva started off prepping Zoe's strands with a styling product, like John Frieda Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse ($7). She applied to damp hair (specifically the roots) to help add some lift.

Step 2: Zoe's hair was blow dried straight with a large Spornette mixed-bristle brush. A heat protective spray was applied from roots to end. Try Not Your Mother's Beat the Heat Thermal Styling Spray ($6). She then passed a flat iron down on one inch sections of hair for sleeker results.

Step 3: For a shiny finish, Aviva coated Zoe's hair with a hair gloss, like John Frieda Frizz-Ease Shine Glossing Mist ($6). A strong hold hairspray was sprayed to help hold the look all night. I love TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Firm Hold Hairspray ($20).
