I don't know if it's the colder weather or the hair products I've been using lately, but I'm having some serious dry scalp issues. It's gotten so bad that whenever I wear black I instantly notice a whole bunch of tiny white flakes all over my shoulders. It's SO embarrassing! The worst part is, none of the dandruff shampoos I've tried have been working. I think it's time I finally try abuela's apple cider vinegar treatment!

I swear vinegar is the absolute cure-all. It works for everything from cold sores, sore throat, stomach aches, and yes–even dry scalp! My abuela likes to combine it with tea tree oil and coconut oil before massaging it onto her scalp. It helps to get rid of those pesky flakes. Here's how to create the DIY dry scalp hair treatment yourself at home!
What you need:
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
2 tablespoons of tea tree oil
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
1 cup of water
A spray bottle
What to do:
1. Begin by combining the coconut oil and tea tree oil in small bowl.
2. Add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the mixture. Because the vinegar is so strong smelling, you want to also add a cup of water to help dilute it.
3. Now add it all to a spray bottle and shake.
4. Apply the treatment to your hair, starting at the roots making your way down to the ends. Make sure to massage the treatment on your scalp for at least a minute. Leave it on for another five minutes before rinsing out with cool water.
