How to look good WITHOUT a single swipe of makeup

My friends never believe me when I tell them I go to work nine out of 10 times without a drop of makeup on. They assume that means I'm walking around looking like a hot mess, but in fact it's quite the opposite. Wearing loads of makeup daily can take a toll on your skin. I know young women who have aged their skin SO much with foundations and concealers, they look terrible without it. Which is exactly why I like to let my skin breathe. There are a ton of ways you can get your face to look bright and beautiful without the makeup!

Not to mention, who has the time to set aside every morning just to do their makeup? I know I sure don't! Put away that liquid foundation or mascara, and check out a few of my pointers below to help you channel your natural beauty!

Get your brows done

I’m super fussy with my brows, and that’s because neat, full brows can make anyone look instantly pulled together. If yours are over plucked, try filling them in with a brow pencil or with __Benefit Cosmetic’s Gimme Brow Brow Ge__l ($22). It contains brush-on fiber gel that makes brows appear much thicker.

Try a face brush

Take washing your face to another level, by incorporating a cleansing brush into your beauty routine, like Clarisonic Mia2 Deep Pore Detoxifying Solution Collection ($169). After just one use my skin already looked smoother, clearer, and brighter.

Scrub your face

Exfoliating on a regular basis helps keep skin smooth and eliminates dead skin cells from clogging pores. Try a gentle one, like Origins Modern Friction Nature’s Gentle Dermabrasion ($40).

Use a face oil

To keep skin smooth and supple during the winter months, apply a face oil or serum to your face morning and night. I love Christian Dior Capture Totale Haute Nutrition Oil Serum ($145).

An even tan can keep you looking radiant without a drop of makeup. Try a facial self-tanner, like Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Glow Pads ($32).

Chill with the mascara

Too much mascara can eventually lead to pesky dark circles. Gives your lashes a break and add a glossy coat of Vaseline using a cotton swab, to make them appear longer and darker.

Brighten your eyes

I like to keep the whites of my eyes clear with redness-reducing drops, like Visine Maximum Redness Relief Formula ($7). It makes my eyes look bright and instantly wide-awake.

Fight dark spots

For a more even complexion, try applying a color correcting serum to your face day and night. I like Lancôme DreamTone Customized Skin Tone Correcting Serum ($98). But if your skin is more on the oily or sensitive side, try Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Moisturizer ($20).

Use SPF

Make sure to ALWAYS use a facial moisturizer that includes sunscreen. It will leave your skin soft, smooth, and fully protected! Check out Clinique Sun Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Face Cream ($21).

Keep your teeth white

Everyone looks younger with a whiter smile. Try brushing your teeth at least once a day using hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. For quicker results, use Rembrandt Stain Dissolving Strips ($22).
