Anorexic model was so skinny she almost died, but she kept working through organ failure

Georgina Wilkin, a former high fashion model is using her tragic experience with anorexia and exposing it to the world. The girl felt so much pressure to slim down for the industry she even hit a point where she became so malnourished her heart and kidneys began to fail. Crazy thing is she was still getting booked by designers and agents despite her obviously thin and frail figure. Seriously, when will this dangerous trend finally stop?

According to Georgina it won't until women stop buying from fashion brands that use anorexic models. She was so turned off by modeling, after seven years of fighting anorexia she finally left it to work as a PA, and has dreams of becoming an interior designer. I can't blame her for choosing a new career path. Becoming so malnourished and skinny to the point where your heart and kidneys begin to fail has to be a wakeup call. The girl was even walking around with blue lips and hands because her heart was struggling to pump blood around her body. That's nuts!

The first time she was booked with an agent she was praised for looking insanely skinny, mind you Georgina hadn't eaten in days and was dizzy. "Georgina, whatever you are doing, keep doing it," the agent told her after examining her frail frame. And unfortunately she took his advice seriously and started starving herself after that. It's a miracle she's still alive today. How she managed to survive through all this is beyond me, but luckily she's now using this experience to educate other young women about the dangers behind the modeling industry.

Just hearing about how sick some of these poor girls get trying to slim down for gigs makes me sick to my stomach. And I wish I could say this was only happening in the fashion industry, but I'm seeing this trend in Hollywood too, even among Latina celebs! It's like looking like a skeleton has become the new"skinny" and it makes me really sad.

How many more women have to come out and expose these anorexic cases for the fashion industry to get that this is NOT okay?
