Exfoliate

Dull, dry skin can trap oil and bacteria that can eventually lead to breakouts. Try exfoliating at least twice a week to buff away any dry skin cells and unclog pores. I like St. Ives Green Tea Scrub ($5). The natural green tea extract doesn’t just help clear acne, it also reduces redness and calms skin.

Switch your cleanser

Foaming cleansers might work wonders during the summertime, but during colder seasons it can wind up stripping moisture from your skin. Switch to a sulfate-free formula, like Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser ($6).

Deeply moisturize

Look for a moisturizer that's hydrating enough to face the colder autumn air. Try a deeply nourishing cream, like Olay Active Hydrating Cream Original ($6).

Oil-free moisture

If you have combination skin (dry cheeks and oily T-zone) or struggle with breakouts, look for an oil-free facial cream that’s still packed with moisture. I love the new Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream for Dry Skin ($9). It left my face smooth for hours!

Deep treat

Repair summer hair damage with a deeply conditioning hair mask like L'Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair Damage Erasing Balm ($7). It leaves hair instantly soft and shiny without weighing it down.

Condition

Look for a daily conditioner that’s going to help replenish moisture and strengthen hair. Try Garnier Fructis Haircare Hydra Recharge Fortifying Conditioner ($4).

Use SPF

Just because summer is over doesn’t mean you can skip the sunscreen. UVA rays are still as harmful during the fall. Make sure to apply sunscreen every day or look for a moisturizer that contains SPF, like Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Facial Moisturizer SPF 35 ($9).

Change your foundation

Tinted Moisturizers and mineral foundation powders don’t provide enough moisture. Try a liquid formula, like L'Oréal Paris True Match SuperBlend Liquid Makeup ($4).

Remove flakes

Your scalp tends to become dryer during the colder months which can leading to pesky flakes and dandruff. SheaMoisture African Black Soap Dandruff & Dry Scalp Elixir ($10) is made with tea tree oil, willow bark extract, and plantain enzyme that helps remove buildup and detoxify hair and scalp.

Do a mask

I keep my skin smooth and bright throughout the fall with hydrating facial masks. Try applying one once a week. I love Alba Botanica Even Advanced Facial Mask ($9). It moisturizes skin and diminishes manchas!
