To get wavy hair
Our editorial assistant has naturally thick straight hair but loves to rock wavy hair. She separates her damp straight hair into two sections (straight down the middle) and creates two braids. In the morning she wakes up with Victoria's Secret worthy waves!
Tame flyaways
I get a lot of flyaways whenever I pull my hair back. So to tame them (along with my baby hairs), I like to use clear mascara. It works every time!
Bouncy curls
For bouncy, defined curls, apply a styling gel to damp hair the night before. You'll wake up with crunchy hair in the morning, but if you turn your head upside down and gently massage your curls, they get smooth and soft in seconds!
Maintain wavy hair
If you have wavy hair, trying sleeping with clean, wet locks. Then retouch them with a 1.5-inch claspless curling rod in the morning for a more polished look. I recommend the Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling Iron ($120).
For voluminous hair
Want va-va-voom hair? Sleep with hair in a high loose bun. Your stands will be full of texture and body the next day.
Frizz hack
Sleeping with silk pillows also helps combat frizz and it keeps your hair soft too!
Another ingenious hack for flyaways
A lot of chicas I know combat flyaways by simply spritzing some hairspray on an old tooth brush and then running it over their strands.
Maintain sleek strands
Whenever I manage to frizz up a fresh blow out, I just do a "dubi." Basically, a "dubi" is when I wrap my hair around my head using bobby pins. In the morning I have smooth, sleek strands.
Revive your curls
I hate commuting on the train with soaked wet hair. So instead I wash my hair the night before and refresh my curls in the morning using a spray bottle. My rizos look instantly fabulous.
For shiny hair
Our assistant managing editor loves brushing her hair with a natural boar bristle brush. It transfers all the oils from her scalp down to the ends, leaving her strands looking shiny and squeaky clean! Try the Denman Natural Boar Bristle Brush ($28).
