Is it me, or were a majority of the actresses that walked the 2013 Emmy Awards red-carpet pin thin? I really can't get over how scrawny Modern Family star Julie Bowen looked. She even admitted that she was "starving" herself this year just so she could fit into her light pink Zac Posen gown. Sorry, but you mean to tell me they couldn't make that dress in a larger size? Last time I checked, mermaid dresses actually looked better on curvier figures!

I wish I could say Julie was the only one that had her bones on display Sunday evening, but that's far from the truth. In fact, there were a number of celebs that looked undeniably skinny including *Breaking Bad'*s Anna Gunn, who won for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. But her distinct collar bones and protruded shoulders distracted a lot of us from her win.
You have to remember it was just last year Anna showed up to the Emmys in a much sexier fuller figure. Adding to the list of anorexic looking ladies were Good Wife star Julianna Marguiles, Allison Williams from Girls, and Homeland actress Claire Danes and her incredibly flat chest. Wait, didn't she just have a baby? And don't get me started on Giuliana Rancic! I gave up on her scrawny butt a long time ago!
Here's what I don't get: Wasn't the world finally starting to embrace curvy bods again? After celebs like Sofia Vergara and Christina Hendricks made it big, everyone suddenly wanted an hourglass figure. I must also add that these lovely curvy ladies looked better than everyone at this year's Emmys! But like I was saying, it looks like society has taken a step backwards, because now all I'm seeing are frail, thin celebs everywhere I look.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against slimmer chicas. I have a small frame myself. My issue is with society embracing CRAZY skinny women that look like they haven't eaten in months. This sends a terrible message not just to women, but to young girls too. There's nothing cute about pronounced collarbones, rail-thin arms, or flat butts!
Anyway, I'm just hoping all the buzz surrounding the skinny stars from this year's Emmys gets people thinking. I don't know about you, but I'd choose a curvier body over a frail thin one any day.
