Abuela’s beauty DIY: An all-natural facial mask that fades manchas for good

The only thing I hate more than acne are the annoying dark spots they leave behind. And unfortunately this is especially noticeable on Latinas with olive, medium, or dark skin (ugh!). So how do you deal with this pesky problem? Well I've tried every product out there and the only thing that seems to work for my manchas is an old school beauty remedy my abuelita swears by!

She likes to whip up an all natural avocado and honey facial mask straight from her kitchen whenever her face is looking spotty. Aside from the fact that it doesn't clog pores, avocado is also rich in vitamin E, which helps fade discolorations and diminishes the appearance of scars. Honey is packed with natural antioxidants which works to fight against acne-causing bacteria, minimizes inflammation, and also leaves skin super smooth and radiant. I can never get over how affective this remedy is. Check out the recipe below!

What you need:

A small bowl

1/2 ripe avocado

1/4 cup of honey

A fork

An egg beater

What to do:

1. Begin by mashing the avocado using the fork until you have a smooth puree.

2. Pour in the honey and then whip it the mixture using an egg beater until it turns into a creamy consistency.

3. Make sure you wash your face beforehand, then apply a thin layer of the facial mask to skin.

4. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with luke warm water.

Do this at least once a week for best results!
