A 42-year-old woman had to get eyelash transplants after her addiction to faux lashes left her lids almost bald.
Caroline Medcalf had been using falsies every single day for the last 10 years. The constant gluing eventually caused her real lashes to fall off. But despite the damage, she couldn't bear to see herself (or have anyone else see her for that matter) without false eyelashes. So she continued to spend around $150 every couple of months on faux lashes, the glue, and solutions for her eyes until she was finally left with nada!

"I ended up looking like a frog. I could not bear to look at myself in the mirror," she told the U.K.'s Daily Mail. But luckily for Caroline, she had $4,000 to splurge on eyelash transplants. The three hour operation consisted of removing a strip of hair from the back of her scalp. The surgeon then took the individual hairs and threaded each one at the bottom of her eyelids using a specialized needle.
