How to fake a vacation glow, no beach required!

There's a reason why most women like to be asked if they just came back from vacation. It's because that usually means we look well rested, perfectly tanned, and glowy. But just because you're not spending a week on a tropical island this summer doesn't mean you can't get (or at least fake) that gorgeous vacation glow.

In fact, even before I went on my Caribbean cruise getaway I was able to nail the healthy, dewy look with the help of a couple of beauty products. So before you get yourself down in the dumps about that trip you couldn't afford, check out a few of my simple tips below. You'll look so beautiful and bronzy, NO one will know you didn't actually spend a week in Puerto Rico!

Mujeres, if you want beautiful looking skin you NEED healthy skin. I usually like to do an at-home facial treatment once a week to really keep my complexion smooth and radiant. Try the Tarte Amazonian Clay Double Detox Facial System ($38). It’s a five-week detoxifying and exfoliating facial mask system that instantly transforms skin!

Smooth your complexion

Caked on liquid and powder foundations are a no-no during the summer. Instead, apply a tinted moisturizer, like Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free ($42), that’s going to keep your skin looking smooth and supple. I usually dab it on with my fingers and then blend it into my skin for a very natural look.

Get your glow on

For a natural sun-kissed look, I like to add a little illuminator to my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, and forehead. In fact, I’m kind of hooked to the St. Tropez Tanning Essentials Skin Illuminator in Gold ($23). It’s perfect for chicas with medium or dark skin tones!

Get flushed

For a beach-bum worthy flush, apply a shimmery tint or stain to the apples of your cheeks. I love Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronze & Glow Matte Bronzer & Cheek Tint ($32). It’s like a blush, bronzer, and highlighter all in one.

Gloss those lips

During the summer, lips look best when they’re neutral and glossy. Finish off your look with a high-shine gloss that includes some golden shimmer in it. I love Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Barked Naked ($24).
