Exfoliate

Darkening of the underarms can be caused by buildup. Try exfoliating your pits in the shower with some soap and water using a small buffing pad. This will help get rid of any leftover deodorant, clothing lint or anything else that's accumulated under your pits.
Waxing

When it comes to avoiding dark armpits, waxing is one of your best options. Shaving often causes stubble, which is what makes underarms appear darker. Waxing helps to remove underarm hairs from the roots, which results in a much cleaner and clearer look.
Get a close shave

If waxing sounds too painful and you'd rather just shave, make sure to ALWAYS use a fresh blade. Razor blades accumulate bacteria and rust, which can cause your pits to darken and develop stubborn stubble. Also, don't shave every day. You want your hairs to be long enough to properly shave off.
Switch deodorants

I swear that certain deodorants could actually be the cause for your dark underarms, especially alcohol-based ones that tend to leave skin incredibly dehydrated.
DIY treatment

Growing up, I used to hear about women using potatoes to treat their dark underarms. It really works! Just rub a sliced potato underneath your pits every night before showering to naturally brighten and lighten. You can also try creating a baking soda paste using a little bit of baking soda and water. This actually works to prevent bacteria and odor from developing so you won't even need to put on deodorant!
