It's the first day of summer everyone! The Summer Solstice marks the beginning of warmer and sunnier weather–and all I can think of is hitting the beach! With that said, as much as I love to splash around in the water and enjoy a little sun-bathing, I still like to make sure I look perfectly pulled together. Of course I'm NOT suggesting you wave surf decked out in makeup. That would be the most ridiculous thing ever.

But it doesn't hurt to carry a few beauty products on you to keep you looking primp and pretty. Here are a few beauty must-haves every chicas should carry in her beach bag!

Sunscreen
Make sure to slather on some sunscreen that includes at least SPF 30 or higher. A waterproof spray version, like Neutrogena Skin Sunscreen Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($10) is perfect for the beach.
Protect your face
I hate the way most sunscreens leave my naturally tan complexion greasy and with white residue. Instead try an oily-free facial sunscreen, like Clarins Sunscreen for Face Wrinkle Control Cream SPF 15 ($30) that’s going to keep your skin smooth, even, and protected.
Waterproof mascara
