Save or splurge? Deep conditioners for curls

Being a curly haired chica, I definitely know how it feels to struggle with dryness. When it comes to getting healthy curls, hydration is always key. But the truth is not all conditioners leave my curls moisturized, bouncy, and defined. In fact, a lot of them leave them smooth but weighed down.

So I decided to try out some conditioning treatments that are especially designed for curly tresses. I tested out two sulfate-free conditioners (because they say sulfate wreaks havoc on curls): L'Oréal Paris EverCurl Hydracharge Conditioner ($8) against DevaCare One Conditioner ($19). Read on to find out which one of these made the cut!

The DevaCare One Conditioner really is as amazing as they say. This ultra-creamy formula left my curls so soft and hydrated that I was able to instantly untangle my hair just with my fingers. It contains absolutely no lather, which resulted in shiny, soft, and moisturized curls. Oh and did I mention how delicious it smells too? LOVED it! It's definitely worth the 19 bucks!

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the L'Oréal Paris EverCurl HydraCharge Conditioner. For a $7 conditioner it definitely wasn't bad. It quenched and deeply nourished my hair almost instantly. The only difference was it was SO moisturizing that I did find that it weighed down my curls. After both washes I followed with the same exact styling products, but for some reason with this conditioner my curls looked a lot looser and less defined than with the DevaCare One Conditioner.

Overall I definitely have to go with the DevaCare pick. It did everything I needed it to do and the gentle ingredients really helped keep my curls soft and bouncy throughout the entire day. I'm definitely hooked!
