Just because it's getting warmer, doesn't mean we need to walk around like we just stepped out of a hot yoga class. Having makeup melting and running down your face has to be the most mortifying thing ever. Let's face it: keeping makeup from melting during the warm, humid months is a battle we often lose.

Wear makeup primer

I actually never put on makeup without applying some primer first, regardless of the weather. It’s the best way to make your makeup last, especially foundation. Look for an oil-free one, like Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-HR Perfecting Primer ($30). This waterproof mattifying base refines skin, minimizing the appearance of pores, and lines all while keeping your makeup in place for hours!
Avoid liquid foundation

When it's hot outside, make sure you’re keeping your makeup light. The last thing you want is to be walking around with melted caked-on foundation! Instead switch to a tinted moisturizer that’s going to still moisturize, cover, and protect. I love Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 ($43).
Use a matte powder

If your skin is naturally oily you might want to reach for a mattifying mineral powder foundation that's going to help absorb your natural oils. Try Bare Escentuals Matte SPF 15 Foundation ($27).
Use a gel blush

A gel blush will last you a lot longer during those warmer days than a powder blush. Try Estee Lauder Cheek Rush Gel Blush ($28). Just dab a little onto your fingers, smile, and then rub on the apple of your cheeks. You'll looked instantly flushed.
Use a water-proof mascara

Avoid raccoon eyes with a water-proof mascara, like CoverGirl LashBlast FusionWaterproof Mascara ($8). I love it because it makes my lashes look super long and thick without any flaking.
Save your eyeliner

I can't think of anything more annoying than when I get eyeliner from my lower eyelids traveling down my face. Kohl liners are super smudge-able especially when it's hot out, so to avoid looking like a hot mess set your liner with a little powder before applying it. Just take a water-proof pencil liner, like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($19) and dip it a little in some pressed powder before lining your eyes.
