The 8 best spring trends for your body type

Chicas, don't ever pass up on fashion-forward trends just because you think you can't pull them off. Prints, ruffles, and bold, bright colors are super in this season and they can pretty much work on any woman if done right. It's all about knowing how to modify these trends to flatter your body type to create a look that works for you. I had a chat with TV host and celebrity stylist Yasmin Deliz on how to put together the best looks to flatter your shape this spring–whether you're slim, curvy, or full-figured. "It's important to love the body that you're in and just use fashion to accessorize and accentuate your shape," she says. Check out a few of her expert tips below before you hit the stores!

If you have a tummy

"Try a ruffled piece. Ruffles help you conceal your tummy area because they layer and also have a flowy quality," says Yasmin. "Pair it with a fun print, like polka-dots or throw a structured blazer that hits at the waist line." Asos.com, $42

If you have a big butt

"Be modest, but don’t hide what your mamá gave you," Yasmin advises. "Go for a pair of bright colored jeans (they work great for spring) that will hit below your back, right where your butt begins, this will provide you with coverage. And avoid embellishments or flaps on the pockets that will create volume." I love these coral ones! Lordandtaylor.com, $95

If you have a pear shape

"Pear shapes should try to create balance between their shoulders and their sides," says Yasmin, who suggests going for an empire waist dress that cinches at the waist to help show off your shape. "Combine the femininity of an empire waist dress with a faux leather or denim vest  to add some instant edge." Jcpenney.com, $40

If you have big thighs

"Look for A-line dresses or skirts. They flare out and help conceal big thighs while cinching at the waist," Yasmin says. This beautiful emerald green would look especially great against tan or dark skin tones. Asos.com, $47

If you're slim but curvy

The trick is to play up your curves. "Try a pair of skinny, low-rise jeans in a fun print that will help accentuate your waist and thighs," Yasmin says. "It will also make your torso appear longer." Forever21.com, $23

If you're short

"You want to look for pieces that are going to elongate your legs and torso. Go for skirts or dresses that are about 4 or 5 inches above the knee. You can afford to go short," Yasmin says. Lulus.com, $40

If you have an athletic figure

"A wrap-around dress creates curves and accentuates the waist," Yasmin advises. "You totally don’t need a belt for this one." Nordstrom.com, $98

If you're tall

"Try layering leggings with a long tunic and cutting it up with a belt in the mid-section of the waist," Yasmin says. I'd wear these with skinny jeans too. Modcloth.com, $60
