Salma Hayek__ hit the red carpet for a Sony Pictures Entertainment event on Wednesday in a strange head-to-toe aqua blouse and pants ensemble that really left me puzzled. When it comes to fashion, the Mexican actress usually knows what she's doing. In fact, not only does she know how to dress for her amazing curves, but she does it with such elegance. Not to mention, her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault does happen to run PPR, the corporate parent to some of fashion's best-known luxury brands. But I have to admit, this time around Salma left me a bit disappointed. The most frightening part about it is that the super bright, 70s inspired suit sort of looks like something Carol Brady wore on an episode of "The Brady Bunch." And that my friends is NEVER a good thing. What the heck was she thinking?

Carol Brady's similar pink pantsuit was actually worn on "The Brady Bunch" episode where the family makes a trip to the Grand Canyon. I know, not exactly appropriate for that kind of occasion, but I'd rather wear something like that on a deserted canyon then to a red-carpet event like Salma did!
I sort of wish I knew what was going through the Mom's mind when she decided to go with this outfit. Maybe she was just in a retro mood? I mean she clearly loves retro looks because she even wore a 1920s inspired black fringe dress for the 2012 British Fashion Awards back in November. Even so, she couldn't just thrust back into the 70s with a chic sheath dress?
First of all, the outfit totally drowned her small frame. You can't even tell this woman has a crazy curvaceous figure, which is what normally makes her look so hot. A long sleeved blouse buttoned all the way to the neck, with a matching belt, and matching wide-legged trousers—I'm sorry but everything about this outfit is just wrong!
I personally don't believe it's a coincidence that her look shows so many parallels to Carol Brady's. She totally used it for inspiration, I have no doubts about that. This was such a fashion miss it's depressing. Where are these celebrities' stylists when you need them?
