I'm all for looking cute at the gym, but wearing a full-face of makeup is just straight up ridiculous to me. But it looks like a large percentage of women disagree, because according to the Daily Mail, 26 percent of women go to the gym decked out in makeup. Want to hear the worst part? These same women don't exercise as hard because they don't want to "ruin" their look. Seriously, then why are you even working out?

According to the study, while only 55 percent of women claimed they don't bother putting on makeup at the gym, 26 percent claimed they did, only 1 percent said they wore it occasionally, and 8 percent admitted that it depended on the situation. The women who claimed to wear makeup every time they worked out, also admitted that they didn't work out as hard because they didn't want to mess up their makeup. Their reasons for even wearing makeup at the gym: it boosts their confidence, it hides skin problems, and it helps them attract men. Seriously?
I can't even explain to you how annoyed I get whenever I hit my yoga studio and find a chick caked in makeup with a fresh, shiny blow out while attempting to do a tree pose. Meanwhile, there I am bare-faced with my hair pulled back in a messy bun, dripping in sweat, and looking like a hot mess. It just makes absolutely NO sense to me.
First of all, let's talk about the effects of makeup while working out, shall we? It's just really not smart because it's only going to clog your pores and cause bacteria buildup on your skin. I understand a little bit of lipgloss here and there, but unless you want some black running down your face or grime absorbing into your pores, why the heck would you bother putting on makeup before hitting the gym? If you had some on from earlier in the day okay, but even so, that's why makeup remover wipes were invented. As for the for the chicas that purposely apply some JUST for the gym, I have no words.
Also, be prepared to piss off a hell of a lot of women once they see you taking up precious time on the treadmill and not breaking a sweat. You don't burn as many calories when you don't sweat, so you probably should know that you're technically wasting your time, too.
