A few months ago you wouldn't catch me DEAD (or alive, for that matter) in a pair of wedge sneakers. I found the trend not only kind of obnoxious but extremely teenage-y. I thought, what kind of person over the age of 17 would wear a pair of sneakers like these, right? It didn't matter how many celebs were walking around in these chunky sneaks, nothing was going to convince me that these shoes were cool. But my whole attitude suddenly changed after spotting Eva Mendes in a cool casual outfit that featured a pair of high-top wedge sneakers.

The Place Beyond the Pines actress looked effortlessly chic in a navy sweater worn with a black tank, torn boyfriend jeans, cat-eye sunglasses, and a vintage-inspired crossbody bag. Her Isabel Marant wedge sneakers perfectly completed the look. And I have to admit, I'm kind of loving how these cool and comfortable sneakers add a few glorious inches, as would a pair of killer heels. So I've decided to give this trend ONE last shot.
