6 bold eyeshadow colors you have to try this holiday season

Forget barely-there makeup–this season is all about bold and beautiful eye shadows. Bright colors like emerald green, peacock blue, burgundy, and purples (like the hot color Christina Milian is wearing in this pic!) are taking over this winter and holiday season. And with Christmas Eve and New Year'sright around the corner, why not amp up your evening look with some of these ultra-chic and unexpected shades?

If you're afraid these hues will look too overwhelming on your Latina skin, don't worry chicas! Dark, strong colors look especially great on medium and dark skin tones. The trick to preventing these shadows from looking clown-like is to keep the rest of your makeup as natural and light as possible. Remember this look is ALL about the eyes!

Check out a few of my product recommendations below to get you looking amazing this season!

Beautiful, bold blue eyeshadows are perfect for winter. Create a daring look with a eyeshadow palette like Guerlain 'Écrin 4 Couleurs' Eyeshadow Palette in Les Bleus ($59). You can use all four colors together to create a multi-color effect or go for a more subtle look using just one or two of the shades at a time.

For a multi-dimensional effect, apply this rich shade over your eyelid and then layer a charcoal shadow over and into the crease, finishing by winging it out past the outer corners.
