With the year soon coming to an end, I can't help but reminisce about some of my favorite celebrity hair looks from 2012. This year seemed to mark the return of sophisticated updos and flirty ponytails, as long, sleek strands were pulled up into super chic and elegant styles. From __Jennifer Lopez'__s popular oversized high buns to Jessica Alba's incredibly edgy braided side-pony, this year was filled with amazing hair moments that definitely merit mention in this countdown. Alves showed off her natural ringlets sporting a incredibly elegant curly updo during Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center this February. It was refreshing to see the Brazilian model and mom wear her long, dark strands up for a change.
Jennifer Lopez
La Lopez turned heads at the 84th Annual Academy Awards that took place this February in Hollwood, California. The Boricua pop star wore a sexy Zuhair Murad gown that featured a plunging neckline quite reminiscent of the green Versace dress she wore back in 2000 to the Grammy Awards. But my eyes were fixated on her perfect oversized bun. Lopez must have loved it herself, because we've caught her replicate this style a number of times over the past year.
Selena Gomez
The Spring Breakers actress looked all grown up rocking an elegant, silver Dolce & Gabbana gown at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Selena’s long, dark tresses were rolled up and pinned into a sophisticated faux bob that totally complemented her retro-inspired look.
Camilla Belle
The Brazilian beauty looked flawless at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City back in April. Her bombshell blowout instantly amped up her look.
