It's always inspiring to see fashion brands working towards a good cause. And that's exactly what Reef, the brand behind those fun and fashionable surfer-inspired sandals and shoes, has been doing with their ongoing collaboration between their design team and artisans from Guatemala and other developing countries around the world. The handmade designs are part of Reef's special collection called The We Heart Collection, which has been designed to provide a platform for these artisans to grow their businesses and build stronger communities.

This sustainable partnership with local Guatemalan workers in San Antonio Palopo has worked to create economic opportunities for people in the region. And I have to admit, the gorgeous fabrics definitely give the shoes a nice vibrant kick! Each shoe includes colorful hand-woven textiles that were especially made in Guatemala. Reef also felt that this was a great way to tie into the brand's 25 year heritage which had its start with two brothers from Argentina, Fernando and Santiago Aguerre.
With rich prints being so on-trend this season, I definitely plan on getting a pair of these cute shoes. Nice to know it will be helping out are fellow friends over in Guatemala too!
