Lourdes Leon works hard for the money in mom Madonna’s wardrobe department

It's about time we see a celebrity's kid hard at work. I have to admit when I first learned about Madonna's MDNA tour, the last thing I was expecting to hear was that her daughter, Lourdes Leon, would also be helping out in the wardrobe department. Nice!

The 16-year-old seems to have developed quite a work ethic. I mean, while most kids her age are spending their summer vacation partying it up, Lourdes happily spends it helping backup dancers switch into their outfits and helping out with all things fashion backstage.

The teen even took to her blog Material World (the fashion blog for her clothing line Material Girl) where she shared some of the deets going on backstage. "Thirty seconds to totally dress a sweaty dancer can be insane and provoke mucho anxiety. Doing this night after night was pretty crazy, but I loved every minute of it," Lourdes wrote.

You'd think with being Madonna's kid and all, that she'd be a total brat. But no, the hard-working teen seems pretty cool and laid back. Don't get me wrong–working in the wardrobe department of Madonna's massive summer MDNA tour is a lot more glam than a typical teen's summer gig. Instead of working as a camp counselor or babysitter, she got to work in fashion. "All my friends were getting summer jobs and I wanted one too," she explained in her blog. "Mine was a little unconventional but still a great experience and a lot of fun." I'm sure it was!

But her job wasn't all fun and games. Lourdes shares how a lot of what she did was folding underwear and dressing dancers for quick changes. Even so, she didn't seem to be complaining. It totally reminded me of all the MANY internships I did during and even after college to pursue my dreams of being a writer. It sort of makes her a little more relatable, wouldn't you say? Minus the mega star mamá, of course!

It's refreshing to see a young teen passionate and eager to follow her dreams. Best part? She's not relying on her iconic pop-star mom to make all the moves for her–and we love that!
