Step 1: The most imporant part of getting this look right is finding the right color. For fair or light skintones, try a white-ish or cool baby blue shadow, like Bare Escentuals Eye Color in Blue Moon ($14). For medium, tan or caramel complexions, try a silvery-based blue shadow like Bobbi Brown Shadow in Iced Blue ($21). And for darker complexions, opt for a minty or greenish-blue shimmery shadow, like Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Eye Shadow in Airy Jade ($40).

Step 2: Now that you have your color, start off by curling your lashes with an eyelash curler and rimming your eyes with a metallic white liner; I love Chanel Long Lasting Liner in Silver Light ($30).

Step 3: Then take your shadow and blend it onto your lids and into the crease. Make sure you trace it around the tear duct and underneath your bottom lash line using a small eyeshadow brush to open up your eyes.

Step 4: Finish off the look with  two or three coats of a super dark mascara. Try Maybelline Volum' Express the Mega Plush Mascara in Blackest Black ($8).

Step 5: To keep the focus on your eyes, make sure the rest of your makeup is simple. Apply a dusting of bronzer to your cheeks instead of blush and keep your lips natural-looking with a nude lipstick, like CoverGirl Continous Lipstick in Sugar Almond ($5) or just a little bit of a smoothing balm, like Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched ($4).
