I have exactly one experience with shopping on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving when it seems that all of the stores have insane discounts in order to lure in the early Holiday shoppers, and it was pretty much the worst experience of my life. I didn't get trampled and the stores weren't as crowded as I initially expected, so you might be surprised why I am STILL saying that shopping on Black Friday is pretty much the worst idea, EVER!

First of all, I didn't go at 4 a.m. like I know some people do. I've had friends who stood in line at electronics stores and scored a big screen TV for pennies of what it's really worth. Okay, sure, I get that but, when I went, the deals were definitely not as great as I would have wanted them to be.
That was honestly my biggest problem with going shopping on Black Friday: it was a HUGE disappointment. I have a hard enough time finding clothes to fit my curves and, after hundreds of people picked over them, it was even more difficult. So, at the end of a very exhausting day, my mom and I came home practically empty-handed and decided to never, ever do it again. The two of us pretty religiously shop at other discount stores, like T.J. Maxx and Marshall's, and I love H&M and Zara, both of which don't really have Black Friday sales, so it just doesn't seem very worth it.
Some people may enjoy running around trying to save money on their pre-Holiday needs, but I'd rather just stay home, eat some more turkey and spend time with my family. Plus, with the invention of Cyber Mondays, I can get that big screen TV for cheap from the comfort of my own home a few days later.
