These crazy painful front-heeled pumps are ‘Scary Beautiful’! (VIDEO)

Just when I thought it couldn't get any crazier than Lady Gaga's  Tyrannosaurus-Rex pumps, someone comes up with insane sky-high "front heels" that are so ridiculous, at first glance you're not even sure they're really even shoes.  These guaranteed land-on-your-butt pumps were created by South African artist Leanie van der  Vyer and Dutch designer René Van den Berg,  as part of an art exhibition called Scary Beautiful. These scary painful-looking heels serve as a commentary on society's standard of physical beauty.

"Humans are playing God by physically and metaphorically perfecting themselves. Beauty is currently at an all time climax, allowing this project to explore what lies beyond perfection," wrote photographer and videographer Lyall Coburn on her Vimeo site.

In the video the woman starts off by slipping her feet in the shoes in the most unconventional and awkward way ever. It looks almost as if she's putting them on backwards, since the heel is the only part of the foot exposed. With her back curved over, knees bent and rear sticking out, she attempts to walk. Her struggle to walk in those crazy heels looks so painful, I don't know whether to cringe or laugh.

But this is actually no funny matter. This shoe displays the extreme measure many women go to today for beauty.

When I first saw this video it kind of reminded me of how silly some women look struggling to walk in very high heels. My boyfriend always gets on my case whenever I'm tempted to buy a pair of insanely high pumps. He'll tell me, "Babe if you don't think you'll be able to walk in them don't get them. A girl in a nice pair of heels is attractive, but there's nothing less attractive than a girl that can barely walk in them." And I have to agree with him. Not only does it look ridiculous, but it makes us look a little shallow, too. It pretty much implies that we're willing to take all this pain and discomfort just to look cute.

And I wish this stopped with heels, but it's with so much more. Women nowadays are so quick to go under the knife to look "perfect." Face lifts, nose jobs, breast implants—you name it! And please don't get me started on the trending butt injections everywhere is so obsessed with now! But back to the shoes, don't get me wrong, I love my tacones and you'll never catch me at a party without them. But if I can't even walk from my door to the corner to catch a cab, then, sorry, but I'll definitely pass!
