Wide Awake Eyes
Dark, thick liner under the eye can weigh down already tired looking eyes. Instead opt for a nude color liner, like Tarte EmphasEyes Inner Rim Brightener ($18) in Nude for brighter, more awake looking eyes. Run the liner along the rim of your lower lashes, while blending it in the inner corners of the eyes. This will also make the white in your eye appear whiter.
Bigger Eyes
For bigger, fuller looking eyes, draw on a thick line along upper lashes using a dark gel liner, like Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($22). Start off by dipping the tip of a fine eyeliner brush in the gel formula, then sweep on starting at the inner corner of your eyes and getting wider as you go towards the end.
Thicker Lashes
Fake a fuller fringe by darkening the base of your lash line, making sure no skin is showing. You can use a fine tipped pencil eyeliner to achieve this look, but for a quicker fix, try Too Faced 3 Way Lash Lining Tool Eyeliner ($22). This magic liner is super easy to use. The 3-in-1 design fills in the spaces between lashes, making them appear thicker. Simply dot in between lashes for a fuller lash line. This has become one of my eyeliner faves!
Almond Shape Eyes
A winged cat-eye look gives the visual illusion of almond shaped eyes. If you have rounder eyes, create a dramatic winged using a precision liquid eyeliner like SmashBox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen in Black ($26). Just sweep on a thick line along upper lashes, drawing a half inch wing along the edge.
Natural Looking Eyes
For a subtle, natural looking eye look, opt for a pencil eyeliner in either brown or black, depending on the color of your lashes. Pencil liners are super easy to use and control. Simply draw on a line close to your lower lash line, for a nice little pop. Try Maybelline Line Express Eyeliner ($5), which glides on smoothly, and includes a smart tip smudge that’s perfect for easy blending.
