Get this super cute, effortless updo in 5 easy steps!

The bun isn't just for ballerinas anymore! It's a simple and quick way to sweep up messy hair into a chic, effortless style. This is why I was so drawn to the low, textured buns that were seen at the Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2013 Paris Fashion Week show. Redken creative consultant Guido created a low, messy knot hairstyle that was both modern and feminine. This pretty and wearable bun that was inspired by both the 70s and Victorian era perfectly complimented the delicate, floral garments from the collection. Not only is this classic style easy to do, it's definitely a look anyone can pull off! Check out Guido's tips to get the look yourself at home!

Step 1: Start off by rough blow drying hair with a diffuser, to create texture.

Step 2: Create a clean center part and apply a hair powder at the roots, for volume (I love Shu Uemura's Art of Hair Volume Maker.) Then gently tease random pieces.

Step 3: Gather hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and tie using an elastic.

Step 4: Then gently tease the ponytail using a boar-bristle brush and twist into a low messy chignon. Pin it using a few small bobby pins, leaving some wispy pieces of the style in front.

Step 5: Finish off by spraying a dry shampoo around the crown like Redken Powder Refresh 01 Aerosol Hair Powder/Dry Shampoo for an added dry, airy texture
