Polka-dot nails are everywhere this season! The trend quickly picked up after Kate Spade's Fall 2012 Fashion Week Show this past February, where models sported long, spotted manicures. This is one mani I've been dying to try at home. Step 1: Start off by using a nail file to shape your nails into a rounded, almond shape.
Step 2: Apply a base coat like, Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat to nails to create a lasting base and help hold color.
Step 3: We applied two coats of Essie Nail Polish in Nutmeg for the base color.
Step 4: Now it's time for the dots! Don't worry about creating perfectly spaced dots. This manicure looks best with asymmetrical and multi-sized dots. Use a nail art brush and dip it into your favorite black polish. Start by putting one dot in the center of your nail and then work yourself around the rest of the nail. For an easier fix, try Kiss Nail Artist Fine Art Pen in Black.
Step 5: Let nails dry a little and then brush a quick drying top coat like Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat to keep your manicure lasting for days!
