NYFW: Get sexy slicked-back hair from Carolina Herrera’s show! (PHOTOS)

Models walked down the runway in soft, feminine fabrics and ethereal shapes at the Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2013 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week show. The collection captured timeless elegance with contemporary style.

While these graceful, flowy pieces were definitely one of my fashion week favorites, once again my attention was on the hair. Cuban super-stylist Orlando Pita was behind the impeccably polished hair design at the show. The stylist created strong, architectural looks that were straight on the sides and back–with front strands pulled back, giving off the illusion of hair held in place by a ponytail or barrette. "It's definitely a look for the confident woman of today," said Pita, "and looks as strong on shorter lengths as long." Check out his super fast and easy steps to get this runway inspired look!

Pita started off by applying new Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse (available in October) throughout hair.

He then blow dried hair straight on sides and back to create subtle volume. Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong was sprayed at the root of each section for structure.

To create the designed effect at the top, Pita started by taking graduated horizontal half-inch sections starting at the crown. He sprayed each with hairspray. The first, at the crown, was sprayed 1 inch from the root. The next was sprayed 1.5 inches from the root and the last few sections, closest to the hairline, were sprayed 2 inches away from the root.

Pita then smoothed, directed and shaped the hair. Finally sprayed the entire look with hairspray; one like Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong provides hold and leaves hair looking shiny, according to the famed hairstylist.

He finished with a light misting a frizz controler, like  Moroccanoil Frizz Control, on top of the crown area to make sure there were no flyaways and to accent the design.
