Nail the metallic manicure trend this Fall!

Autumn is almost here and for the nail polish-obsessed (like me), that means accessorizing with the season's latest lacquers! This fall, it's all about fierce and sexy metallic manicures, but that doesn't mean you have to put away your soft nudes and bright coral polishes just yet! L'Oréal Paris' consulting nail expert, Tom Bachik, gave us the scoop on how to get this look to work for you and still make use of your bright and classic nail polish hues. Check out some of his amazing tips below!

Wear it with nudes: "I love antique metallics and full-coverage nudes on toes, so there's no competition with all the great shoe colors for fall. Keep the pop of color on your fingers to play off lips and eyes. Metallics and full coverage nudes are now staple shades and are everywhere and pretty much go with everything. The modern take on metallics has been to give them more of an olive-y undertone so they are not as bright and more wearable," says Bachik. Keep your colors: No need to throw out your spring/summer polishes! Bachik insists you can make them work with the new fall trend. *"*You can mix combinations of antique/dirty metallics with modern versions of 60/70's inspired cream colors like teals, sea foam, pinky oranges, corals, and of course bright pinks and purples," says the L'Oréal nail expert.  "Antique metallics are generally more neutral in tone and are a modern way to replace natural shades. These are perfect to put a sparkle on your toes and keep brights on the fingers."

Make it last: If you want to make your metallic nail look stay on, Bachik suggests using a base coat and reapplying every two days to allow the polish to stay newer longer. "The biggest mistake is when you don't apply a base coat and top coat. These two products help in having your shades last longer," he says. Try an easy look: Want a metallic shade that won't go out of style? Bachik suggests sticking to a classic hue. "To stay on-trend go with a deep tone like burgundy and eggplant–these shades will always be fall classics," he says.
