Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck settle divorce — but she’s keeping her $5 million engagement ring

Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024. They were only married for two years. Now that they’ve settled their divorce after not having a prenup, J.Lo will reportedly keep her $5 million engagement ring.

To recap, Ben and Jen met in 2002 on the set of their film Gigli and started dating later that year. They got engaged but called off the wedding and later ended their relationship in early 2004. Nearly 20 years later, Bennifer reconnected in 2021 before marrying in May 2022.

On January 6, Ben and J.Lo officially settled their divorce, according to documents obtained by E! Online.

The exes agreed to Jen’s initial August 20 filing, walking away with the earnings they individually made during their marriage. Also, Ben and Jen will not provide spousal support to each other, and Jennifer’s last name was changed back to Lopez.

However, J.Lo is reportedly keeping her $5 million engagement ring.

Interestingly, J.Lo will reportedly keep a souvenir from her and Ben’s marriage. The Unstoppable actress is not giving back her engagement ring, according to court documents obtained by Page Six. Jen’s 8.5-carat green diamond engagement ring is reportedly worth $5 million.

Jen reportedly is 'ready to close the door' on the Ben chapter of her life.

Reportedly, Jennifer is ready to finally move on from Ben.

“The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end,” a source told People of J.Lo’s feelings now that her divorce is settled. “She’s in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter.”

Meanwhile, Ben is 'very happy with his life.'

In November 2024, a different source told People that Ben was “very happy with life.”

“He enjoys working,” the source said of the actor, who was filming RIP with his friend and business partner, Matt Damon, at the time. “He seems to be in a good place.”

A source claimed the exes are 'still connected' despite their relationship ending.

In a December 17 article published by Page Six, a source offered insight into Ben and Jen’s relationship despite no longer being romantically involved.

“They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved,” the unnamed insider claimed. “Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids.”

Jennifer is 'moving forward with optimism.'

In October, a source told People that filing for divorce wasn’t an easy decision for J.Lo.

“This has been one of the hardest years for Jennifer…She didn’t want to file for divorce. She just felt like she had no choice. Nothing was gonna change with Ben,” the source told the publication.

They added, “She was very upset about it. But true to her positive outlook on life, she’s moving forward with optimism. Instead of feeling like she’s fallen flat on her face, she sees it was meant to be.”
