This is actually a tip that I used a LOT this past holiday season and I think it's one that I really love because of how quick and efficient it is: pre-eating before a fiesta, party or any sort of gathering has been proven to save you in calories down the road!

Basically, if you're going to a big family gathering, make sure that you actually eat a little something before you go there. Of course, focus on something healthy, like a filling quinoa salad or a big plate of greens. The reason to do this is so that your stomach fills up with some of those healthy thing that you know you should be eating and there won't be too much room for those party snacks that you definitely want to avoid.

This tip is so that you don't overdo it, but you CAN allow yourself just a couple indulgences. You don't have to kill yourself being "good" when you're at that party or family gathering, but you can rest easy knowing that the bulk of your meal that evening was a something healthy at home.

Remember not to overdo it on the wine, though, and as always come back for Tip #27 tomorrow!
